From the recording History 2006-2016

Former bass player Jeff Sohn brought this riff to me while he was still in the band. I wrote the lyric to fit. We rehearsed it a few times. Jeff was out of the band by the time of these sessions but I liked the song and added it to album.

Lyrics

'm coming home under desperate skies. The day is done the tide has changed watch the river rise. I never listened to what was said. The waters high as of now tomorrow dry river bed. Yeah, the water's high as of now, but tomorrow high and dry. I'm coming home, I'm coming home under desperate skies. I'm coming home, to face my fears. To face the truth, to face the facts, to face the years. i'm coming home, under desperate skies. To face the power, to face myself, to face the lies. to Oh no they'll never understand. They'll never understand. No, they''ll neverunderstand just where I've been. We can't walk away, no we can't walk away. We can't walk away from where we've been. I'm coming home under desperate skies to face the power, to face the truth to face the lies. No, they''ll never understand just where I've been. We can't walk away, no we can't walk away. We can't walk away from where we've been. Desperate Skies.

A powerful rock & roll band whose sound fuses old-school punk, roots rock, and heartland rock, with fierce, often politically charged lyrics on top. The Last Conspirators are fronted by singer and songwriter Tim Livingston a pioneering figure on the punk scene in New York State’s Hudson Valley... true believers, keeping the rock & roll flame burning even if it may no longer be fashionable to do so.. coming across like an Americanized version of the Clash… the Last Conspirators.. waging war against complacency and cherishing the rebels and outsiders on the fringes of American culture. .. raging against the light, whether it's dying or burning bright.”
