From the recording History 2006-2016
Worked this one out in rehearsal with the first band lineup but did not take form until Nick Bisanz came in on bass. Turned out Nick played the multiple guitar tracks plus bass on this turning into what I originally envisioned, a loose Stonesy blues jam. Lyrically on the surface one of my most positive songs.. someone always tries to read under the surface.. I believe the perfect campaign song for an aspiring public servant ... I really dig my vocal on this one.. fits the vibe at hand.
Lyrics
Someone shouted equality. Then someone stood up for dignity. Someone bared their soul for all to see. Someone opened the door of opportunity. Somewhere tonight in America. Somewhere tonight in the home of the free. Somewhere tonight in America. Someone is out there living the dream. Someone somewhere decided to care. Someone realized there was enough to share. Someone bravely took up the dare. Someone looked for doubt but found it wasn't there. Somewhere tonight in America. Somewhere tonight in the home of the free. Somewhere tonight in America. Someone is out there living the dream. Someone said hey, what have we here. Someone realized there was nothing left to fear. Someone shouted , looks like we're in the clear. Someone let it all go, knowing the end is near. Somewhere tonight in America. Somewhere tonight in the home of the free. Somewhere tonight in America. Someone is out there living the dream.
