On Sunday, November 20th the Last Conspirators will be the support act for the legendary all-girl-pop-punk band from Osaka Japan, Shonen Knife. The show will be upstairs on the main stage at Valentines Music Hall & Beer Joint in Albany NY at 7pm. This will be the last stop, before heading back to Japan, on Shonen Knife's extensive 30th Anniversary North American Tour.They will be playing songs from their amazing new "Osaka Ramones: Tribute To The Ramones" CD and some music from their great catalog of recordings.
The All Music Guide says: "The Japanese trio Shonen Knife has made major fans out of alt-rock's elite and have built a solid, worldwide cult following with their Ramones meets the Beatles brand of sticky sweet punk-pop." The band has been around since the early 80's and during the course of their history have released over 15 albums and have played around the world including tours with Nirvana, Sonic Youth and Redd Kross. This show is going to be BIG fun, one of the top rock shows of the year, and a rare opportunity to see this storied band here in the Capital Region
The Last Conspirators return to the main stage at Valentines, where they last opened for roots-rockers the Blasters, and will be showcasing songs from their first two critically acclaimed albums and a few new ones from their forthcoming third release due out in early 2012. The Big Takeover Magazine says of the Last Cons: ”If you want to know where the real songwriters in punk are this day and age, look no further" and the All Music Guide describes them as: "a powerful rock & roll band whose sound fuses old-school punk, roots rock, and heartland rock, with fierce, often politically charged lyrics on top. The Last Conspirators are fronted by singer and songwriter Tim Livingston a pioneering figure on the punk scene in New York State's Hudson Valley." .
